More Businesses Offering Flu Shots at Work

Making time to get your annual flu-shot can be a hassle.

More and more businesses are teaming up with local clinics to bring the flu-shot to you.

<<It takes no more than a minute for you to get your flu-shot, but the time it takes to get to a clinic can make a person put off getting the vaccine.

"It's a great service that we provide because it doesn't cost the employer any additional money for us to come, so employees can get in get their flu shot within a couple minutes and then they're right back to work," Adrienne Biles said.

KX News employees received their flu-shot Wednesday, and instead of driving to a nearby clinic, the clinic came to them.

Reporter Sarah Gustin says it couldn't be any easier for her to get her shot.

"Because you're not having to run and make appointments and go to a hospital and you know stand in line and wait in a clinic, here you know it's a quick five minute deal, we write up the paperwork, she gives us the shot and we're done, and we're right back to work," Reporter Sarah Gustin said.

Owner of KX News, Tim Reiten says if his employees are vaccinated, it's less likely they'll be home sick from work.

"I think every business should do this, because it guarantees that your employees will at least not get the flu and if you get the flu you could miss one or two weeks of work and that can hurt a business."

"If we can get better health in the workplace that's what we're going to do, and we're going to make it as simple and convenient as possible," Biles said.

Convenience these employees are taking advantage of.>>

Biles says every year more employers continue to sign up for the flu shot to be given at their business.
