Business Beat 10-24

Posted: Updated:

Just outside of Alexander in the heart of the Bakken, a new convenience stop has opened up shop. This is Wild Bison Travel Center. It opened its doors on October 1st. Travel center really does accurately describe what you'll find here. Full deli service with ample room to spread out and eat. Shower services are available...clothing sales too. Logan Arias is running the bustling travel center...busy of course with Bakken workers -- but others too.

(Logan Arias - Manager) "...mostly from oil truckers but we get a lot of other people in various businesses around here too. The economy around here is great. It is a huge step up from what we had in Florida."

Wild Bison is north of Alexander on busy Highway 85.

In Minot The Paint and Floor Store that had been located just south of Menard's on Broadway has moved to 20th Ave. SW.

You'll find them here, in the old Advantage Appliance location.

Advantage Appliance closed their Minot location earlier this year.

On October 1st, Steve Nush made the move...

He says the location is much easier to get to...and has allowed more space for customers.

(Steve Nush - Paint and Floor Store) "We are seeing a lot more residential business. I haven't really pursued the commercial line as much as I wanted to but not that I am over here I think I will go after that a bit more and bring the customers in."

With Business Beat, I'm Perry Olson.
