Garrison Gets a New Scoreboard

Posted: Updated:

Two sports, on two different fields are sharing a scoreboard.

Both the Garrison High School Football field and the community baseball field needed a score board update.
But two separate boards would have cost more than 25-thousand dollars.
So, The two pulled together to buy this 18-thousand dollar board and one generous family made it possible for this board to rotate so it could be used on both fields.

(Alex Bendickson / Baseball Player) "It rotates and on there is a pin and you stick a pole up and there and it's easy to rotate one man can do it. I think it's really awesome. I have been looking forward to it all year. It's my last year."
(Luke Gehring / Baseball player) Baseball is my favorite sport ever since I was a little kid I watched teams before me play on that field and I always thought it would be cool to have a grass infield."

Roughly 80-thousand dollars of improvements were made to the baseball field.
Including a concession stand, grass infield, and new restrooms.
