Another new judge is now at work in the Northwest Judicial District in North Dakota.
This afternoon, Paul Jacobsen became the newest judge in a region that has seen a significant increase in the number of criminal and civil cases.
Today's investiture ceremony was held at the courthouse in Williston.
The judgeship filled by Jacobsen is the second of two added by the state legislature in an effort to deal with the caseload in western North Dakota.
The other new judgeship was seated in Watford City.
