Natural Gas Pipeline Complete

Posted:

Moving natural gas through the Bake just got easier.

The Toga Lateral Pipeline is now complete.
The 80 mile pipeline will join the existing main pipeline to deliver natural gas that would otherwise be flared.
Some gas will be used locally by the Hess Corporation's gas processing plant near Tioga, while some gas will be moved to processing plants and into the Chicago area market hub.

(Steve McNally / Hess Corp. General Manager) "The gas plant has been there for nearly 30 years. We are doubling the size of that gas plant. Up to 250 million standard cubic feet per day. And that we will be able to extract methane, ethane, propane and butane. The relationship we have with alliance pipeline gives us the flexibility to either extract in state or depending on the markets, sell raw gas.
"(Terrance Kutryk / Alliance Pipeline CEO) "Alliance has contracted about 50% of the capacity of this line to Hess Corp. it is to serve the Hess Tioga Gas plant. We are also marketing in junction with our friends at Hess to other producers in North Dakota.

The pipeline took about 1 year to build.
Construction costs total roughly 170 million dollars.
