A Bismarck school takes precautionary measures after a home burglary attempt near Northridge.

An man came home for lunch and found an intruder in his house in his gun safe on the 1900 Catherine Drive.

The intruder fled the house. The homeowner thought at the time a gun may have been stolen.

Police were called and searched the area.

As a precaution--police asked school officials to lock school and classroom doors at Northridge and at Corpus Christi--where Liberty students attend kindergarten.

Bismarck Public Schools say it was not a lockdown, but what's called a Shelter in Place.

Parents can pick up their kids as normal. Extra law enforcement around as the two schools dismissed this afternoon.

The suspect has not been caught but Bismarck police say they are following some good leads.
