Shiloh Art Teacher Receives Award

Students at Shiloh Christian School get to showcase their work using state of the art technology...literally.

And their art teacher is in the spotlight.

Becky Strutz is recognized by Artsonia - the world's largest online kid's art museum.

She received the leadership award for encouraging family and community involvement in arts education.

Shiloh's online art gallery ranks number five in the state.

"I have the best job in the school. It really is, it's fun, the kids love it. They get engaged. It's fun to see just their personalities come out in their artwork and getting to know them that way. And it's something where it's just fun and they can come and relax and express themselves," says Becky Strutz, Shiloh Art Teacher, K-5.

Students get to showcase their work online which makes it easy for family and friends to see their masterpieces.

Family members can even purchase keepsakes with their child's artwork.

The students say art is their favorite class and look forward to the new projects they get to create every day.

"Drawing Power Rangers," says Kean Beler.

"I really like art because I really get to paint in it," says Elizabeth Hatlestad.

Shiloh Christian School gallery showcased over 1,000 pieces of artwork during the 2012 to 2013 school year.

And their online art collection has been visited nearly 12,000 times.
