A Dickinson man will spend 5 years in prison for trying to kill his girlfriend.
Matthew Foxworthy was sentenced this week in Stark County.
Foxworthy choked his girlfriend until she passed out and hit another woman in the face the crimes happened in June 2012.
Foxworthy pleaded guilty to two counts of Aggravated Assault and one count of Fleeing.
An attempted murder charge was dropped as part of the plea negotiations.
Judge Anderson sentenced Foxworthy to 15 years with all but five years suspended.
