Student Leaders Gather

Posted: Updated:

Student leaders from across the region gathered early this morning to take care of business.

Local chapters of Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America, or FCCLA, met this morning for the organization's District 2 Leadership meeting.

The meeting included a campaign for the District's 2 new president, a quiz for members of the organization and a contest to recite the organization's creed.

The organization also discussed its accomplishments.

Current District 2 President, Emily Hertz, says the FCCLA's statewide campaign raised nearly 44-thousand dollars for the Children's Miracle Network Hospital.

She says the organization helps promote a helpful message.

(Emily Hertz, FCCLA ND District 2 President)"We like to teach people and students how to work well together and work for your goals and just be fun and entertaining and just do what you want to do and live your life."

Hertz says there are 11 FCCLA chapters in District Two.
