Farmers in Need of Propane

Posted:

A wet harvest across much of the Midwest has grain dryers running overtime.
Grain drying in western North Dakota started about 3 weeks ago.

Brent Rud with Curtis Rud Oil in New Salem says there's been a steady push for propane this season.
Rud says he has between 8-12 customers running grain dryers.
With some dryers using as much propane in a day as what a household uses in a year...propane supplies are tight.

(Brent Rud / Curtis Rud Oil) "We are ok. Our supply has been reliable. But you can definitely tell that there are no extra loads out there to get if you need to. You really have to manage your inventories and keep your customers upcoming needs in mind."

Last week, Governor Jack Dalrymple signed an executive order extending hours of service for drivers supplying propane, to retail suppliers.
