Posted:

The Schaumberg Arena in Bismarck used to be skating on thin ice.

Now, it's newly renovated and shines.

Upgrades -- have taken place over the last several months.

When you walk in, you'll notice new boards and glass, a bright energy efficient ceiling, and a fresh coat of paint throughout the building.

The arena hosts a variety of different events from hockey, to roller derbies, and even wedding dances.

Kevin Klipfel, with Bismarck Parks and Rec is looking forward to opening to the public.

"I'm just excited to see some of the kids' faces that have been skating in this rink for years and when they see the improvements, how bright and shiny and almost brand new that this facility looks and how excited they're going to be to play hockey and figure skating down here," says Kevin Klipfel, Facilities and Programs Director, Bis Parks and Recreation District.

The Schaumberg Arena will open on Sunday November 3rd with public skating from six to eight PM.
