Construction crews are laying the groundwork for what will become the new Ward County Office Building.
Ward County officials say the 16.7-million dollar project will feature four stories on the north side, and three on the south.
A basement will be included and a skywalk will connect the new building to the existing courthouse.
Currently, the crew is forming walls to make way for steel assembly work slated to happen soon.
One project official says no weather delays have stood in the way of the project, allowing for it to stay on schedule.
Work on the project will continue throughout the winter.
(Tom Vennes, Mattson Construction Job Superintendent)"We've got blankets. We cover up the areas that we need to protect and stuff like that for footings and foundations. Once we get them in, then it's okay. Everything else will be fine. Iron workers will just work in the cold."
Vennes says the project is slated to be finished in September of 2015.
