This is a picture of a mountain spotted in south Bismarck.
It's confirmed. A Mountain Lion was south of Bismarck near Prairie Rose Elementary School.
North Dakota Game and Fish officials say they have examined a picture of a mountain lion that was captured on a trail camera west of the University of Mary.
Wildlife Chief Randy Kreil says the date stamp on the picture shows the cat was there October 20th -- two weeks ago.
The owner of that camera says he hasn't seen the mountain lion since.
Parents of students at Prairie Rose were notified Tuesday that the school was taking extra precautions because of the sighting.
Kreil says Game and Fish will monitor the area, however there is a strong likely hood the cat has moved on.
He says mountain lions do not like human activity.
A reminder, the Mountain Lion season is open...
Three cats have been taken in zone one, which is the badlands area.
No cats have been shot outside that area.
