Awarding Community Service

Posted: Updated:

A group effort to spruce up the flood valley has not gone unnoticed by the Minot Area Chamber of Commerce.

Today, the Chamber awarded Enbridge, the City of Minot Public Works Department, and the North Dakota Petroleum Council with the Above and Beyond Award for their flood cleanup efforts.

The groups worked together to coordinate a weekend cleanup project this past September for overgrown lots and riverbanks in the flood zone.

Minot Public Works Director, Dan Jonasson accepted the award on the City Public Works Department's behalf.

He says he's proud of his staff's efforts.

(Dan Jonasson, Minot Public Works Director)"It's good to see, on behalf of my street department, that I think everyday does a wonderful job, to see them appreciated for what I've known for a long time. They work hard. They do a great job."

The Chamber of Commerce also awarded several Eagle Awards to those who have showed noteworthy customer service.
