Final Production for Retiring Director

Posted:

The University of Mary will present the musical "Damn Yankees."

It's the final production for Bev Huschka who is retiring after 34 years.

Huschka chose this play because it is lighthearted, fun, and full of dancing.

She enjoys working with the students not only as a play director but also as a teacher in the communications field.

Huschka says she's enjoyed watching her students take what they've learned into their future careers and says she will also appreciate the opportunities she's had as a teacher as well.

"Being able to look around the community and see young professionals that, you know, I've at least helped to prepare for their roles in society so that's part of it. And then I think the colleagues. I mean the people at Mary are wonderful to work with and supportive and that really makes a difference," says Bev Huschka, Retiring after 34 years.

And her students, even those who are Freshman, say her many years of experience make her a tough act to follow.

"It's always hard to see one of your directors go and she's just such a good director. I definitely think it will be hard to see her go."

Performances of the play start at 7:30pm November 14th through the 16th and at 2pm on November 17th at the Belle Mehus Auditorium.

For tickets call 701-223-4260.
