Failure to yield on Highway 2 near Stanley resulted in the death of one woman this morning.

Around 5 am Friday, a 46-year-old woman pulled into the intersection of Highway 2 and 74th Ave, eight miles east of Stanley.

North Dakota Highway Patrol officials say her car was hit by an oncoming pickup and both vehicles came to rest in the median.

The woman in the car was not wearing a seatbelt.

Authorities have identified 50-year-old Randal Berres of Hazen as the victim in a semi crash near Mandaree Wednesday evening.

Berres was killed when the semi he was driving crashed into the back of another semi that was stopped on Highway 22 near Mandaree, preparing to make a left hand turn.

The other driver was not injured.
