Two Teens Killed in Traffic Crash

Posted: Updated:

Two teenaged girls were killed in a one-car accident in southeast Ward County this weekend.

The Ward County Sheriff's Department reports the 16-year-old driver Julie Beaver of Ryder and her 18-year-old passenger Ciera Rounsiville of Minot died in the crash.

Officers say the two girls died when their vehicle failed to negotiate a curve, rolled several times and landed upside down in a slough.

The accident happened on a gravel road northwest of Benedict.

A passerby noticed the vehicle upside down in the water about 8:45 Saturday morning.

Neither the driver nor the passenger was wearing a seatbelt.
