Christmas Lights Display Ready

Posted: Updated:

Christmas lights will adorn Oak Park once again this year with the Minot Sertoma Club's Christmas in the Park.

Kelli Volk has the details on another year of bringing holiday cheer to the area.

If you're dreaming of a bright Christmas, it will become a reality on Friday.

Minot's Sertoma Club is hosting its 15th Sertoma Christmas in the Park.

Oak Park will be illuminated once again, this year, with Christmas lights that will make the evenings merry and bright.

(Mylan Sand, Minot Sertoma Club President)"It's a new and better Sertoma in the Park. We're excited to be back. We missed 2011 because of the light. We were back last year and everyone was excited to be here so we're excited to have another year and have it bigger and better than it was last year."

Aside from plenty of holiday cheer, the display comes complete with thousands of lights and miles of cords according to Sand's estimation.

(Mylan Sand, Minot Sertoma Club President)"We have some new displays. We have some new poinsettias. We have a train. We also have a couple of new sponsors, Tires Plus and a couple others that are new to the park."

Some of the displays may be new, but Christmas in the Park just like the ones that visitors have come to know.

(Mylan Sand, Minot Sertoma Club President)"It's a tradition, the Christmas tradition. I think it's great for the family. It gives the community something else to come out and do and see that you don't get to see the rest of the year."

Sertoma Christmas in the Park is back, making Christmas merry and bright.

The lights display is open from 6 to 10 starting this Friday and it runs through New Year's Eve.

The admission fee is five dollars per vehicle.
