Black Friday Skate Break at Schaumberg Arena

Posted:

Along with your Black Friday shopping money, you may want to bring your ice skates.

After a long morning of shopping you can take a skate break at Schaumberg Arena.

It costs two dollars per person or five dollars per family.

But in the spirit of the holidays, one dollar will be taken off admission for every non-perishable food item you bring.

The items will be donated to a local food pantry.

"Quite often we get calls when there's no school if we have any extra open skate so this year we're really going to try and make sure we get more of those. And since it's proximity to the holidays we decided to kind of show off the new rink and then give back in the holiday spirit," says Dustin Thiem, Facility Specialist, Schaumberg Arena.

Open skating ran from noon until two today.

If you'd like to stay updated on Schaumberg Arena's open skate times you can go to www.bisparks.org.
