Amber Schatz on Being Real Life Co-Anchor with Ron Burgundy

Bismarck, ND -

Will Ferrell's Bismarck debut on KX News is trending across news feeds across the nation.

Today some of the attention has shifted from Will Ferrell to co-anchor Amber Schatz.

"Good Evening, I'm Amber Schatz, and I'm Ron Burgundy."

"I'm watching myself on TV with Ron Burgundy and wondering did that really happen?" says weekend anchor Amber Schatz who co-anchored with Burgundy.

As part of a marketing campaign for his new movie Anchorman 2. Schatz got to be Ron Burgundy's real-life co-anchor. Veronica Corningstone move over.

"Amber you look lovely tonight, are you married?" Burgundy asked during the newscast. "No I'm not," Amber replied. "Well I am, so don't get any ideas," Burgundy added.

Not only were Bismarck area viewers mesmerized by Ferrell's appearance, but national media outlets are also in shock.

"So Amber what was it like to anchor an entire show with Ron Burgundy?" asked a reporter from Inside Edition.

It's a sign the spotlight has shifted from anchorman to anchorwoman.

"Amber Schatz the weekend anchor shared the desk with Will Ferrell at KXMB in Bismarck, North Dakota. Umm, Amber, Amber Amber..." says CNN Anchor during interview.

It's one of thirty some interviews she has done with Radio and TV stations spreading from Canada to New York, and Florida.

Amber says, "They want to know what he was really like, and was he RB the whole time? How hard it was to not crack up. He was so cool, so awesome, he laughed at one of my teases and I thought that's so cool he just laughed at something I wrote."

The "Anchorman" fanatic knows one-liners from the show and even recited some back to Burgundy during commercial breaks. But the one famous one liner she wanted to hear, Burgundy botched...

Amber says, "he didn't realize we wanted him to say, "Stay Classy North Dakota".

For Amber Saturday night's newscast truly was a dream come true.

"It's so awesome to be known as the girl who got to anchor with Ron Burgundy," says Amber.

Amber says Will Ferrell was soft spoken, kind and stayed after the newscast to take pictures and sign autographs for KX employees.
