Some Businesses Say "Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow"

Posted:

It's Christmas time in the city.

Although this blowing snow may send shivers up your spine, it's welcome to businesses that look forward to this season every year.

Outside the snow is falling and Huff Hills employees are calling "yoo, hoo."

Workers are literally snowing and blowing up bushels of fun to get ready for the winter season.

"Snow making kind of happens no matter what but when we get weather like this it makes it a lot easier and then of course when we get natural snow it's always a nice sign and it takes a load off of us a little bit," says Andrew Beck, Mountain Operations Manager, Huff Hills.

The weather outside may be frightful for some who just aren't ready for the cold. But for those who like winter sports, they say let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

"We're super excited about the snow," says Beck.

When it snows, it's also thrilling for the shops that can deck you out with the winter gear you need for the slopes.

"As you can tell probably with the smile on my face, I'm pretty stoked. Every time it snows that's when kids need new coats, they need new snowboards, they need beanies and long johns and so then they come in and yell at us," says Rob Savageau, Owner of Savvy Skate & Snow Shop.

But if coordination is a slippery slope for you, you can still frolic and play in a new way.

"Tubing is going to be a nice thing I think because it's a new crowd. It's another activity people can do in the winter without having to learn how to do skiing and snowboarding," says Beck.

So even though your nose gets a chillin' and maybe you're not quite dreaming of a white Christmas...

(Nat: "It's gonna be cold but that doesn't matter," says Savageau.)

...you can still make it your favorite time of year.

Huff Hills grand opening will be Saturday December 7 from 10am to 5pm.

For more information on their hours you can find them on Facebook, Twitter, and huffhills.com.

Season passes are also on sale at Scheels and Savvy Skate & Snow Shop.
