Christmas at Zoo Event Canceled

Posted: Updated:

Winter weather is making it look a lot like Christmas, but it's also causing one Christmas event to be canceled this Saturday.

Roosevelt Park Zoo has decided to cancel its fundraising event Christmas at the Zoo.

Zoo staff planned on offering hayrides, some animal encounters, and even a visit from Santa.

Because of the latest pattern of winter weather and cold temperatures the Zoo decided to call off the event for visitors' safety.

Greater Minot Zoological Society Coordinator, Staci Kenney, says it is unfortunate the weather caused the event to be canceled, but it will be treated as a learning experience for the future.

(Staci Kenney, GMZS Coordinator)"This is just another challenge that we get to deal with and it's good because it helps us learn and make every event better. We've definitely got a lot of cool things in store for the future events some other things I'm sure we'll think up as we go."
