Glowing Embers Were a Concern

Posted: Updated:

The fire at the Chateau Apartments left its mark on the neighborhoods surrounding the scene of the fire.

Burning embers were a concern for residents living near the area of the fire.

One resident living near Odd's mobile home park says at around 6:40 this morning she noticed red ash and glowing embers landing on her house and in her front yard.

She says the embers continued to fly around the neighborhood for about an hour.

Later in the morning, black debris littered neighborhood yards, but at the time it was falling she said it was bright red--a sight that worried many neighbors.

(Stephanie Chell, Minot Resident)"Initially, I was nervous, not knowing how close it was or any of that. Once we heard where it was from, not quite as scared, but more wondering, "okay, what do we need to do and can one of these set a fire to our house or the neighborhood or the trees in the area."

Some people living as far as two miles away reported finding burned pieces in their yards this morning.
