Deputies Promoted

Posted: Updated:

After completing a series of requirements, the work of three Ward County officers came to light today in a promotion and pinning ceremony.

Today, three Ward County deputies were promoted to higher rankings.

Nick Boys was promoted to Patrol Sergeant; Brent Johnson was promoted to Detective Sergeant; and Larry Hubbard was promoted to Detective Lieutenant.

Before the officers could be granted the titles they had to complete a written test and interview process.

Ward County Sheriff Steve Kukowski says placing the officers in these roles will help the department address a growing need in the county.

(Sheriff Steve Kukowski, Ward County)"Our calls go up every single year and that's county-wide for the City of Minot and for us and we have added five new positions so what we've done is put supervisors together so that these people will be supervising the other deputies."

Friend and family of the promoted officers were also present at the celebration.
