The news spread like wildfire yesterday that Bison Head Coach Craig Bohl will be the new Head coach at Wyoming.
To Simply sum up Bohl's 11 season's as the Bison Head coach-- he's been phenomenal. He has 101 wins and 32 losses-- back to back FCS championships in the past two seasons -- and NDSU is in the hunt for their third straight.
Reports came out after NDSU's 38-7 FCS playoff win over Furman yesterday.
The news came as a huge surprise to fans and players.
But the question looming on everyone's mind-- will Bohl be on the sidelines for the rest of the playoffs?
(GENE TAYLOR/ NDSU AD) "It was better in my opinion for him to be here because I know he would be here. Yea he is going to have a couple things to deal with Wyoming but if he's there and trying to recruit potential staff to go there than it's a mixed bag. I've asked him that he needs to be focused on this program and quite frankly University of Wyoming said the same thing. They said Craig you need to go focus on your team get as many wins as you can and than we'll worry about you coming out here and starting a job out here."
(CRAIG BOHL) "A big reason why I've had the opportunity to be here is because of an exceptionally remarkable group of men that are at North Dakota State. I told myself I wasn't going to cry. But anyhow a really remarkable group of guys."
So Bohl will remain under the headset for the Bison until their season comes to a close before departing for Wyoming.
the University of Wyoming is a step up in levels to the FBS. They're a member of the Mountain West Conference. Bohl signed a 5 year contract with Wyoming and his base salary is $750,000. That will increase annually plus incentives.
