Lincoln Elementary School Almost Complete

Posted:

It's almost time for Lincoln, North Dakota's first school to open.

It's been about a 12 month project and construction workers are in the home stretch.

A couple of the features of this elementary school are a discovery room, where classes can give presentations and audio booths in the library.

Darin Scherr, Facilities and Transportation Director, says the biggest thing they need to wrap up is the main building flooring and the gym flooring.

He says the goal is to have the building complete by December 20th for a test drive.

"The kids are actually going to get to come out and kind of be introduced to their building - bring their supplies out, see their classrooms. Kind of do a test run. They're going to start at their normal school and they'll end at their normal school but they're going to spend most of the day out here at their new school," says Darin Scherr, Facilities & Transportation Director.

The first full day of school for Lincoln Elementary students is set for January 2nd.
