Cookies for Airmen

Posted: Updated:

Along with the holiday season, often comes holiday baking.

The Minot Area Chamber of Commerce is helping to share sweetness by the dozen once again.

Today the annual cookie drive for Minot airmen kicked off.

Anyone is welcome to bake at least a dozen cookies for the cookie drive.

Once all the cookies are gathered they will be distributed to Minot airmen living away from their families.

The city of Minot and the Air Force Base have teamed and set a goal to reach at least 12-hundred dozen cookies.

Minot Chamber of Commerce Program Director, Carla Dolan, says the cookies are a token of appreciation for the airmen.

(Carla Dolan, Minot Area Chamber of Commerce Program Director)"They are there for us serving our country and so we want to be there for them when they're away for the holidays. I think, when you thing of Christmas, you think of the wonderful food and the cookies and the baked goods and whenever you can get something that's homemade it's special."

You can drop off cookies at the Minot Chamber office today through Thursday.

Drop-off hours are 9 am to 3.
