Fire Equipment Company has opened a location just off of Burdick Expressway by the Moose Lodge. Jeremy and Tanesha Leker are air force vets who have actually owned the business for more than two years...but this is the first public location. They offer the equipment mandated for safety...and can answer any questions to make sure you are in compliance and are always prepared.

(Tanesha Leker - Fire Equipment Company) "We are not afraid to look up all the codes, call the fire marshall if we have to, and get you within standards if you have been visited by the fire inspector we will come out and fix whatever he or she found. We will get you up to date. That is a problem around here. There are many extinguishers older than 1984 and we are fixing that problem."

You can find them online at FECMinot.com.

West of Minot on Highway 2 you'll come across Lifeway Homes. Lifeway is in the process of developing what is known as Wheatland Village -- a part of the 55th Street Crossing. It will be found at the site of the large FEMA park that was established after the flood in Minot. Mike Harrison with Lifeway Homes says upgrades will be coming to the area soon...

(Mike Harrison - Lifeway Homes) "It was the FEMA Park. There were 650 spaces. We will leave 350 of those spaces to be a manufactured home community. We will be putting all new homes in over time. The streets will all be paved and there will be a lot of parks that will go in right next to the mobile home park."

Many homes are already on site...With Business Beat, I'm Perry Olson.
