Lamb Cook Off

Posted:

It's not your typical cook off.
Today's main ingredient is... lamb.

The lamb cook off is a highlight for the North Dakota Lamb and Wool Producers Association's annual convention.
The purpose of the cook off is to share recipes and show just how easy and versatile cooking with lamb can be.
And some of chefs take it very seriously even braving the cold to prepare the best tasting boneless leg of lamb.

(Skip Anderson / Cooking Lamb) "Start with first a good product, I like to get a roast about 3-4 pounds. I marinate it overnight. Put a dry rub on it. Throw it on the grill. Indirect heat, cook it until it's 135 degrees, internal temperature. Let it rest a little bit. Serve it hot."

The convention starts tonight and runs through tomorrow.
