There was plenty of "ho ho ho" with sausage and pancakes this morning at Badlands Grill in Minot.
The restaurant had a special visitor - and some very special guests for its "Breakfast with Santa" event.
Santa and Mrs. Claus spent time with dozens of children and their families from the area.
The kids got to talk with Santa, have their faces painted, and open presents while they enjoyed a free breakfast.
The idea was to offer a special event to kids whose families might have been struggling to provide gifts this holiday season.
A local school principal helped find families who would benefit from a special day such as this.
(Cindy Cook, Sunnyside Principal) "Minot right now is such a hard place. Most of these families are working two, three, even four jobs and they have enough money to provide food and rent but there isn't always enough to provide a wonderful Christmas for kids. This morning we have fires, we have food, we have presents, it's been a great morning."
(Travis Northington, Badlands Manager) "It's been an absolute blast. I've had so much fun, my staff has had a great time with the kids. The best part is seeing smiles on all their faces today."
About 70 kids and their families were part of today's Breakfast With Santa at Badlands Grill.
