Scheels Makes Donations

Scheels Makes Donations

Posted: Updated:

Dozens of area charities picked up an early Christmas present thanks to Scheel's today.

The Minot Scheel's store donated more than 140-thousand dollars to more than 40 local agencies.

The largest recipient was the Souris Valley United Way getting a check for $75,000.

In addition, the Dream Catchers received ten thousand dollars - the third of three such donations for the group that provides a baseball league for kids with disabilities.

Dozens of agencies picked up smaller donations including the Minot Swim Club's 750-dollar check.

But the club representative said the money will make a big difference for the group in recovering from the 2011 flood.

The local Scheel's manager says the donations are all done from the Minot store for Minot-area groups.
