It's been 2 and a half years since the 2011, and the rebuilding of homes through the efforts of Hope Village has come to a close.
However, the disaster led to much more than just home destruction, and this is where Hope Village is continuing to do its part.
Free emotional care is being offered to anyone still struggling with
the flood aftermath - whether it's just someone to talk to, or further emotional or spiritual care you're seeking.
Pastor Paul Krueger says that it's the least they could do for those still suffering.
(Pastor Paul Krueger, Hope Village Director) "People quickly forget just how devastated families were and how deep the loss is. And if you deal with loss and you deal with helping people through loss, you recognize that it takes a whole lot longer to move through than one would anticipate."
If you were affected by the flood and would like involvement in the free emotional care, contact Hope Village.
