Holiday Flower Sales

Posted: Updated:

There are many unique ways to decorate for the holidays.

Fresh flower are a popular choice for adding a little holiday cheer to the home.

One Minot flower shop owner says Christmas time is a busy season for her business.

She says the work starts in November when her business starts preparing poinsettias, putting up Christmas arrangements at local businesses, decorating trees and making wreaths and center pieces.

During the holiday time, the shop makes about 30-40 deliveries a day.

However, by tomorrow, two delivery vans will be needed for constant deliveries throughout the entire day and an additional van will be on standby.

It is fast-paced, but she says working with fresh flowers and plants has its highlights.

(Niki Brose, Flower Central Owner)"The smell of the Christmas greens, we don't smell it much anymore once we start working with it. Just to make people's day when we deliver the centerpieces and how happy and excited they are to receive the gift, I guess is the most exciting for us and when they come to pick up their centerpiece that they've ordered and how excited they get over it."

Aside from poinsettias, Brose says centerpieces made of fresh Christmas greens are a popular item for the holiday season.
