Supreme Court Orders Cobb be Allowed Reasonable Bail

The North Dakota Supreme Court says white supremacist Craig Cobb should be allowed the opportunity to get out of jail.

Two South Central District judges have ordered Cobb to stay in jail on no bond.

Cobb requested the Supreme Court to intervene, and they have.

The Supreme Court today ordered that district judges issue an order setting reasonable bail with reasonable conditions for Cobb.

The order says the bond needs to be addressed before Friday.

According to court documents under North Dakota's Constitution, people have the right to bail except for capital offenses, like murder.

The Justices say there is no evidence supporting why Cobb should be held without bail.

Cobb was charged with seven counts of terrorizing in November for carrying guns around Leith and threatening residents.
