Hepatitis C Update

Posted: Updated:

The North Dakota Department of health is continuing its investigation of a Hepatitis C outbreak in Minot.

To date, 44 cases of Hepatitis C have been identified as part of the outbreak.

Through an epidemiological analysis, statistical information suggested that Hepatitis C may be associated with blood drawing services through an agreement with Trinity Health or nail care services by ManorCare.

However, after looking at those areas the department didn't notice any obvious breach in infection control procedures.

State Epidemiologist Tracy Miller says the department will continue its investigation for further answers.
