Man Found Inside Wilton House Following Explosion

A man walks away after a house explodes in Wilton this morning from an apparent gas leak.

Lt. Richard Johnson with the McLean County Sheriff's Department says the man was found in the basement of the home.

He says his hair was singed and he was taken by ambulance to a Bismarck hospital.

The Wilton Fire Department responded shortly after 11 this morning to the call of a house fire.

Johnson says there was an explosion that was heard and felt around town.

He says it appears it was caused by some sort of a gas leak.

Johnson says a woman renting the house was at work but that a male friend was inside.

Johnson says there was insulation and glass found across the street. He says he had never seen a house blown up.

A State Fire Marshall is investigating the cause.
