Man Charged in Wilton Home Explosion

A 52-year-old man is charged in connection to the home explosion in Wilton yesterday.

Ernest Miller is charged with endangering by fire or explosion--a Class 'C' felony.

McLean County State's Attorney Ladd Erickson says the charge is based on Miller intentionally creating a gas leak that resulted in the explosion of the house.

Erickson says Miller didn't try to stop the leak.

The Wilton Fire Department was called to 206 McLean Avenue in Wilton around 11am Thursday.

They were responding to a report of a house that had exploded.

The McLean County Sheriff's Department says the man was found in the basement of the home with singed hair.

He was able to walk away on his own but was taken by ambulance to a Bismarck hospital.

Miller remains in hospital tonight. His condition is not known.
