Church Gets New Look For New Year

Posted: Updated:

Along with the new year is a new look for one Minot Church.

Minot's First Lutheran Church is finishing up renovations of the church basement.

The 2011 flood caused the church basement and parish center to be flooded with sewage.

The parish center renovations have already been completed and now the second phase is near completion.

The church basement has been sheet rocked and painted and has brand new carpet, bathrooms, and a new kitchen.

The project is now down to the final details.

The church's congregational life team, oversaw the project--one member says part of the goal to was maintain the historical element of the church.

(Loraine Haugen, First Lutheran Congregational Life Team)"Our facility here is really a historic building in Minot and we wanted to keep that historic feeling with our beautiful oak doors that we've installed, the colors, the traditional look to it."

Basement should be complete by the end of the month.
