The Bishop Ryan Lions boys basketball team will kick off district play on Thursday when the team travels to Berthold to take on the 6th rated Bombers. The game will mark the first time former Bombers coach Brock Teets will face his former team. The match up also will be a big one for both teams as they try to stay on top of what should be a very competitive district 12 race.

Brock Teets, Lions Basketball Coach:I think it's going to be a very difficult game you know Berthold's an extremely tough team. They bring a lot of experience with Mitchel White and Austin Lee obviously you know so they're experienced, they've been in big games, state tournament type games, region final type games and so you know I think Berthold's lost only 1 game in the last 6 years on their home court so we're going to earn it Thursday night if we go in there and get a win. It's going to be extremely different you know I'm not going to lie about it it's going to be kind of an emotional night so to speak but I have a lot of respect for those kids out there you know the coaches out there and just the whole community out there they mean a lot to me but once the ball goes up in the air Thursday night, it's just another basketball game and I think it's going to be a really good one.

Austin Eggl, Senior:We know that they're a good team, they're going to get after it, they got some good guard play, they got some quickness on the perimeter. It's always big being the first game in districts and them being one of the more top tier teams in the district, we have got to make sure we start off the schedule right with a win up there.

Brody Bosch, Senior:Yeah, it's going to be a good atmosphere, kind of a small gym so it's going to seem pretty packed both teams pretty even very well coached so it's going to be fun.

Game time on Thursday is at 7:15 in Berthold.
