If you were traveling on the Broadway bridge today -- you might have gotten your first look at what traffic will be like over the next two summers.
Traffic was narrowed to three lanes this morning so that workers could finalize their last inspections.
The delay times were barely noticeable, but that will probably change once demolition begins.
(Adam Walker, Project Engineer of Houston Engineering) "I think we're only impacting traffic one day each direction here, but next summer it might get a little interesting. What we are doing right now is beam inspection. Earlier in the Summer, we went out and did the pier and the column inspection for de lamination, but next summer the bridge decks on this bridge are getting replaced. Next year one bridge deck will get replaced, and the following the next one will be replaced. We're hoping that this will be a fifty-year fix."
The Department of Transportation in Minot says that all lanes should be back open tomorrow, until construction begins in March.
