The Ward County Historical Society is facing a Monday deadline to either remove its Pioneer Village Museum buildings from the North Dakota State Fairgrounds or have them evicted.
The State Fair Board says it needs more space on the fairgrounds for a variety of purposes.
The historical society maintains that a 1966 contract allows its museum to be on the grounds, and treasurer Bruce Brooks that the group has no plans to move the buildings.
Brooks says the society has obtained a lawyer and will be raising money to fight the eviction in court.
