Accident Victim's Family Benefit Held

Posted: Updated:

Friends and co-workers of a Mississippi man who was killed in a hit-and-run in Williston this winter are holding a fund-raiser for his family.

Black Gold Oilfield Services is hosting the benefit meal into this evening at its crew lodge near Williston.

Proceeds will go to the family of Anthony Scoggins.

Scoggins was killed in December when he was run over in the parking lot of a Williston bar.

He is survived by his wife and three daughters.

Meanwhile, the court case against the driver of the pickup that hit Scoggins continues.

David Krause of Alpine, Wyoming is charged with Manslaughter and Leaving the Scene of an Accident - both Class B Felonies that carry a maximum sentence of ten years in prison.

Krause has pleaded not guilty and is awaiting trial in Williston.
