Charges in Fatal Crash

A Georgia man is facing three felony charges of negligent homicide for his role in a traffic accident that killed three people near Stanley last summer.

Vernon Wright of Hiram, Georgia was charged this month with three Class-A Felonies in the crash.

The accident happened June 21st in heavy fog along Highway Two, three miles east of Stanley.

Wright was driving a semi tanker that turned across the highway in front of several oncoming vehicles.

The tanker exploded and lit the other vehicles on fire.

David Maskey and Tyler Fischer of Minot and Patrick Wilkie of Wahpeton were killed in the accident.

No date has been set for Wright's initial appearance in district court.

Each count carries a maximum five year prison sentence.
