There's a constant need for blood donations in Minot.
Today, some MSU student organizations partnered with United Blood Services to answer that call.
Two sororities and one fraternity worked alongside United Blood Services to host a blood drive at the MSU Wellness Center.
A United Blood Services Donor care specialist says there is always a need for blood in the area, especially Type O.
He says it only takes about 45 minutes for the donor to give blood, but the donation has a lasting impact on the community.
(Mathew Wiese, United Blood Services) "The need is always going to be there. We're always one bad accident away from making a call out to the radio and TV saying, 'Hey we need blood. Come in and donate.' So for us, we're on that knife edge. We're always trying to keep that balance."
Another blood drive will be held at MSU on Friday.
