Authorities urge you to be on the lookout for scam artist and child sex offender who uses his wife's death to get money.

The Williams County Sheriff's Department says Kenneth Monk has targeted churches in Wilton, Washburn and Velva.

Monk walks into the church and tells parishioners his wife has just died in a car accident.

He says he needs money to get back to Forest, Mississippi to go to the funeral and to be with his three children.

Monk has been given money in each case.

Monk is a child sex offender from California and is on probation.

He's 5'5" and 140 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.  Monk drives a 1999 burgundy Suburban with North Dakota plates.

Authorities say if you see him to call local law enforcement and to not approach him.
