Dickinson Gets Into the Mardi Gras Spirit

Posted:

It may not be Bourbon Street but Dickinson is already getting into the Mardi Gras spirit.

This year marks Trinity High School's 50th Mardi Gras Celebration.

The midway in the school is set up like a carnival filled with games for the whole family.

There's also bingo, lots of food, entertainment, and a raffle car giveaway.

The event runs from January 24th through the 26th.

It first began 50 years ago as a small, one day event, and now it's grown into something the community looks forward to every year.

"It's just nice seeing familiar faces and just all the community getting together. It's a major fundraiser for Dickinson Catholic Schools but the community's been so supportive of us. It's just nice seeing everybody come together and have a wonderful weekend together with family," says Scott Kreitinger, General Chair, Trinity HS Mardi Gras.
