Some people are putting their pedaling skills to the test.
The Energy Generation Conference kicks off at the Bismarck Civic Center with a vendor exhibition, and a unique demonstration -- a power generating bike.
The bike connects to a web-based program and measures how much power each rider produces as they pedal.
People bike for 30 seconds to see who can generate the most electricity.
"As they peddle, the harder it gets because they bring on more load. So the students actually get to feel what it feels like to generate electricity. At the same time they have something that's fun and a little bit more interesting to look at than just a big meter." said Zachery Allen, Project Manager for BSC National Energy Center of Excellence
The bike will be used throughout the duration of the conference.
