Cold Weather Car Wash

Posted: Updated:

You might not think many North Dakotan's would go to the car wash in negative temperatures, but one local business says it's hit or miss depending on the day--

Bonnie Campo reports.

"Tunnel of Suds in Minot opened it's doors just like every other day, and even though they aren't slammed with business, people are continuing to drive up despite freezing conditions ."

(Todd Olson, Manager) "Last winter it was really busy all the time. This winter we slowed down quite a bit."

"That could be because of hassles like: doors freezing or glass fogging up. However, some can't avoid the inconvenience of washing in the cold.

"Well our company requires us to keep our vehicles clean, and it's a company vehicle, and that's what we gotta do."

There are some who wash their vehicle even more in the winter because of the de-nicer used on roadways.

"It seems like it might help the paint of the car, and I do love what they do here."

"They have had to adjust employee hours to compensate."

"We go from like 300 cars down to about around a hundred, give or take."

"Tunnel of suds was only closed once this winter season because their windows were frozen shut. They said that their plan is to be open no matter how cold it might be, for KXnews, I'm Bonnie Campo"
