Police Look For Help

Posted: Updated:

Minot Police are asking for your help in solving the burglary that happened at the Kallias house yesterday.

A neighbor saw a light blue caravan mini-van in the area a couple of days before the theft - and saw it again in the Kallias' driveway Tuesday afternoon.

A white man about 30 years old with black hair and a heavy beard was seen with the mini-van.

Captain John Klug says considering the fact that many guns were stolen, the thieves should be considered dangerous, so if you spot the van or know something about the crime, contact the police.

He says it's important to solve the case to keep this kind of crime from being repeated.

(Capt. John Klug, Minot Police) "If they're willing to do this once and they get away with it and we can't locate them, will they try it again? Possibly. It's one of those crimes of opportunity and if it keeps presenting itself and they keep getting away with it we could see that spiral into something that we don't want in Minot."

Captain Klug says the burglary is a reminder for us to lock doors and make it hard for potential criminals to gain entry.

And he says it's good for neighbors to pay attention to what's going on in the neighborhood.

You can report information about the crime to the police anonymously by calling 85-CRIME.
