Business Beat 1-30-14

Posted: Updated:

The long wait for Panera Bread to open in the Magic City is about over. The company has announced that doors will open here on February 4th...that's this Tuesday. Panera is located in what was once overflow parking for Hobby Lobby and Kohl's. Panera Bread is known for bakery products, sandwiches and salads. Minot is a third city for the chain in the state with locations already in Grand Forks and Fargo.

Jody Mecklee and Valerie Stadhiem have opened Grow With Me downtown.

Kids clothes can sometimes last just a few months. Growing bigger all the time means baby clothes may only be worn a few times...and same for the toddler years. With that in mind...this store is designed to be a place to buy...and sell those items. It isn't a consignment store...rather a business that buys high quality used kids clothes from anyone...and then puts them on the shelf. Valerie says business has been brisk over the last few weeks since they opened. She says it has been popular because you can get clothes in great condition at a fraction of the price...

(Valerie Stadhiem - Co-Owner) "Our clothes range from newborn to size 16 for kids and then of course the juniors. We have winter clothing. Boots, shoes, educational toys, puzzles, games...

And they also have maternity clothes and baby essentials as well...

(Valerie Stadhiem - Co-Owner) "We take strollers, bassinets, toys, mommy-to-be clothes..."

Grow With Me is celebrating with a grand opening this Saturday downtown. With Business Beat, I'm Perry Olson.
